From August 08th to 12th, 2022, Professors Hussein Hoteit, Abdulkader Afifi, and J. Carlos Santamarina conducted a field trip to Iceland to visit the Carbfix project.

It was part of the effort at KAUST to tackle CO2 emissions by studying CO2 storage and mineralization in reactive rocks. The trip also included Drs. Jakub Fedorik, Antoine J. Delaunay, Mouadh Adassi, the Ph.D. Students Abdirizak Ali Omar, Miliausha Petrova and MS Student Maria C. Lopez Suarez.
