02 March, 2023
The second edition of the KAUST Research Open Week (KROW) was held from 27 February to 2 March. KROW 2023 focused on the theme “Research for the future of Saudi Arabia: Partnering on national priorities.” It was an opportunity to highlight how research at KAUST is contributing and helping to shape the future of the Kingdom through education, community involvement, and scientific inquiry.
Throughout the week, KAUST researchers presented science and engineering research highlights and showcased projects involving direct in-Kingdom partnerships.
ANPERC opened its doors to the KAUST community and visitors from industry and government entities on 2 March and presented highlights of the novel research projects addressing national and global challenges related to energy, carbon dioxide capture, sequestration and utilization, and climate change.
ANPERC researchers presented several ePosters, including a data-driven analysis of climate change in Saudi Arabia: trends in temperature extremes and human comfort indicators, CO2 Geo-Storage and Gravity-Assisted EOR, Geothermal Energy for Saudi Arabia, and a fascinating demonstration of a lab-scale CO2 sequestration in an underground formation.
After a tour of the ANPERC labs, guests received an eco-friendly reusable bag containing ANPERC literature and an energy-efficient COB rechargeable key chain light. We are grateful to everyone who visited ANPERC and the ANPERC team for organizing ANPERC Open Doors 2023 and enthusiastically sharing their work at ANPERC.
