ANPERC participated in AAPG Geoscience Technology Workshop in Bahrain entitled “Source Rocks of the Middle East: A world-class Resource for Unconventional?” held from 26th - 28th of September, 2022.

Some of the world’s renowned experts joined the workshop to share their experiences, challenges, and solutions in developing unconventional hydrocarbon resources.

Two of Professor Volker’s Ph.D. students presented their research in the workshop. Muhammad Usman gave an oral presentation, discussing source rock characterization and the effects of source rock compositional heterogeneities on sweet spot identification. Akbar Wicaksono presented a poster, sharing his insights on microfracture creation during compaction in the source rock with a modeling approach.
