KAUST President Tony Chan Leaves No Stone Unturned in Visit to ANPERC Lab

15 October, 2018

Center Director Dr. Tadeusz Patzek walked KAUST's new president Tony Chan through the ANPERC laboratory in the basement of building 5 on Monday morning, pointing out its state-of-the-art equipment. Scientists and faculty like Viswasanthi Chandra and Volker Vahrenkamp walked the president through millions of years of carbonate formation and petroleum recovery, and students Ahmed Abdelaziz and Saleh Hassan walked him through some of their latest experiments. The president handled rocks and asked questions about the sedimentary formations of the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf. He even got a chance to hold one of Vythos' award winning Seafloor Monitoring System, and was surprised by how light it was.
