During the celebration of Earth Day on Thursday April 19, ANPERC was awarded the very first KAUST Certified Green Lab Award with the highest score in sustainability. The Green Lab award, given to ANPERC by the KAUST Sustainability Group, is an indication of how green the labs of the centers are. To win the Green Lab Award the lab must meet certain criteria which are related to Energy Conservation, Freezer & Fume-Hood Efficiency, Water Conservation, Chemicals & Materials and Waste Management. The lab award also recognizes the efforts of the lab staff to improve the environmental performance of the work places inside the lab and how lab and research facilities can be operated in an efficient and sustainable way.  Lab manager Zeyad Al-Talla: "I would like to congratulate all ANPERC members for their contribution in achieving the highest score in sustainability. It was a result of a joint team effort from faculty, staff, researchers, and students committing to adopt sustainable laboratory practices and to ensure less environmental impact while encouraging resource sharing without compromising research integrity and efficiency". Thank you ANPERC lab team and specifically to lab equipment assistant Nayab Mukthar for your dedication to the lab and to ANPERC!
