ANPERC welcomed its newest Ph.D. student David Gonczi in February. Gonczi comes from Hungary, where he studied Earth Science and Engineering with a specialization in Oil and Gas Engineering at the University of Miskolc and earned his Bachelor's degree in 2015. That year he also worked as a Reservoir Engineer. For his Master's degree, Gonczi moved to Austria where he studied Petroleum Engineering at the University of Leoben. At ANPERC, David is pursuing his Ph.D. in Earth Science and Engineering under the supervision of Professor Hussein Hoteit. Asked about his first impressions of Kaust, Gonczi reflects: "My first impression after joining the ANPERC team was how exceptional everyone was and extraordinarily helpful both professionally and privately. The main decision of choosing KAUST was based on the conscious creation of an innovative community with its diversity. The faculty includes international academics at the forefront of their field, creating the best opportunities for students to develop their research talents, incorporating state-of-the-art technologies. I strive for the best to be a valuable member of KAUST unique community. Furthermore, the location filled me with astonishment, as the campus stands out over the shore overlooking the spectacular view of the numerous imposing architectures and the Red Sea."

Welcome to the team and to KAUST David!
