ANPERC is opening three new VSRP projects. VSRP, or Visiting Student Research Program, is a way for students from around the world to get be a part of the ground-breaking research going on at KAUST. Each of the three projects at ANPERC are under the supervision of center director Tadeusz Patzek, and involve modelling and visualization of upstream petroleum data.

• Numerical modelling of capillary driven flow using OpenFOAM - Work on running simulation of multi-phase capillary driven flow in channels of different geometries and wettability properties. Study numerically the effect of dynamic contact angle on capillary driven flow.
• Visualization of Oil Displacement Patterns in Micromodels - The goal of the project is to test and establish procedures for saturation and flow visualization in custom-made micromodels.
• Visualization of time dependent oil displacement from core plugs by X-ray CT - The goal of the project is to develop a procedure for X-ray CT imaging of oil/water saturation in a carbonate core.
