ANPERC students, staff, and faculty will be attending a 3-day course on fracture modeling and analysis by consulting geologist Dr. Sherilyn Williams-Stroud from October 21st to the 23rd. The course will advance ANPERC's research into industry-focused innovation. Postdoctoral Fellow Victor Torrealba: "As fracture modeling matures, we will see better decisions being made by the petroleum industry in terms of optimizing the production and development of current and future reservoirs." Williams-Stroud is a research geologist with the Illinois State Geological Survey, a part of Illinois State University, and the CEO of Confractus Inc., which provides fracture characterization and microseismic mapping to the energy industry. She received her MA and PhD from Johns Hopkins University and has over 25 years of experience in government and industry.
