The Lab-on-a Bench startup has advanced to the Taqadam Startup Pre-Accelerator Program. After submitting an explanatory video, written application and participating in a thorough interview, EGEL Ph.D students Marisol Ramirez, Gloria Castro, Wonjun Cha, and Farizal Hakiki are now ready for the next step, a startup "Bootcamp."
Lab-on-a Bench aims to revolutionize geotechnical characterization tools by combining state-of-the art and portable lab equipment with the IT-Tool, an advanced soil database with over six thousand entries.
The team is now busily preparing their pitch to secure their spot in the later stages of the program. If they make it through the entire process, Lab-on-a Bench could earn 375,000 SAR of startup funding, just as another team of EGEL scientists did last fall with Vythos – a cost effective and innovative approach to seafloor monitoring.
