​From March 18 to 21, the Middle East Oil and Gas Show will take place in the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center. The counterpart to GEOS, MEOS brings national and other petroleum companies together with academics and scientists from around the region. The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) organizes an exhibit where everyone from Schlumberger to Saudi Aramco will rub shoulders, and a conference that presents hundreds of papers on geological and engineering topics. The event is more than an opportunity to network; some of the latest ideas and enterprises will be on display. Previous conferences have included seminars like "Advanced Hydraulic Fracturing Design and Treatment," and workshops like "Women in Leadership: Invest, Initiate, Innovate."

The exhibition floor is a unique opportunity for academics and industry professionals to meet.

ANPERC, in partnership with KAUST's Division of Innovation and Economic Development, will host a booth at the exhibition, giving researchers, students, and professionals a chance to get to know the center and what it has to offer. If you know anyone who is interested in creating the next big innovation in petroleum engineering, send them our way. ANPERC will be in booth number 036, right between Dynamic Flow Computers and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, and across from Global Suhaimi. From the main entrance, take a right at Saudi Aramco. In addition, Center Director Tadeusz Patzek, post-doc Timofey Eltsov, and PhD students Ahmed Hassan and Ryan Santoso will present papers at the conference.

Validation of High Pressure Resin Impregnation Technique for High Resolution Confocal Imaging of Geological Samples, (March 21, 10:30, Station 12) A. Hassan "We present a procedure that produces high quality pore casts that reveal the fine details of the complex pore space of micritic carbonates."

Optimisation of Energy Recovery from Geothermal Reservoirs Undergoing Re-Injection: Conceptual Application in Saudi Arabia, (March 20, 13:00, Session 27: Energy Efficiency and Innovation) R. K. Santoso "In this study, we provide a workflow for feasibility assessment of geothermal reservoir development with potential application in Saudi Arabia."
