It was a pleasure to welcome back Professor Hosung Shin from the University of Ulsan, Korea for 10 days during August. Dr Shin is an expert in the field of numerical modelling of rock fractures and collaborated closely with Professor Carlos Santamarina. His seminar, entitled The Implicit Joint-Continuum Model: Application to THM coupled problems provided the latest developments in this critical area.
