Professor Carlos Santamarina, Associate Director of ANPERC, was recently announced as the recipient of the    Hogentogler Award by the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM).

The award is presented annually by the ASTM Committee D18 on Soil and Rock to authors of an ASTM paper of outstanding merit on soil or rock.  It recognizes meritorious  effort and is the most prestigious technical award given by the committee. 

The Hogentogler award is presented to Santamarina, along with co-authors G. Viggiana, E. Andoand  D. Takano, for their paper, "Laboratory X-Ray Tomography: A Valuable Experimental Tool for Revealing Processes in Soils," published in the January 2015 edition of the ASTM Geotechnical Testing Journal.
