Biography

​Ahmed Aleidan is the head of Upstream Business Support Division in Saudi Aramco. He is a certified petroleum engineer and holds a B.Sc. degree from Louisiana State University, a M.Eng. degree from the University of Adelaide in Australia, and a Ph.D. degree from Texas A&M University, all in petroleum engineering. Ahmed has served in many  scientific committees related to climate change and CO2 sequestration in reputable organizations such as King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI). He is an active member in the society of petroleum engineers (SPE), the international honor society for petroleum engineers (Pi Epsilon Tau), Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF) Technical Group and its Project Interaction Review Team (PIRT), and a country representative in The International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee 265 (ISO/TC265). He is a Technical Editor for SPE Journal of Reservoir Engineering and Evaluation (SPEREE) and The Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering. Ahmed has several publications and patents; and has chaired and co-chaired many technical sessions and symposiums.
