The KAUST Research Conference - Enabling CO2 Geological Storage Within a Low-Carbon Economy - taking place on Feb.  e_posterLay_Online22-24, 2021, will be an excellent opportunity for post-graduate students to showcase their latest research related to Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS).

You are invited to share your 5-minute research in a pre-recorded presentation. The topics should be related to:

 

  • Role of CCS in low-carbon economy
  • Lessons from CCS-field demonstrations
  • Site characterization and selection, storage assessment, trapping mechanisms
  • Advances in capture technologies, transportation, and infrastructure
  • CO2 for enhanced oil and gas recovery
  • Geothermal and CO2
  • CO2 mineralization and storage
  • Monitoring technologies, leakage modeling, risk assessment
  • Geomechanics, induced seismicity, and well integrity
  • Chemo-thermo-mechanically coupled mechanisms: modeling and simulations
  • Blue hydrogen and decarbonization options

All ePosters will be posted on the Enabling CO2 Geological Storage Within a Low-Carbon Economy conference website and will be evaluated by an internal KAUST review committee. 

Guidelines

Your ePoster should convey the motivation, problem statement, state-of-the-art research/technologies, and your contribution. All in 5 minutes. The following guidelines and eligibility are required:

-        Participants must be post-graduate students registered in an academic institution.

-        The material should be approved by the supervisor/institute for publication.

-        Use PowerPoint/pdf slides in your presentation as needed (5-10 slides).

-        Traditional 1-slide-poster format is acceptable but not recommended.

-        Provide full affiliations for all co-authors and the contact information for the presenter.

-        The recording must be 3-5 minutes in MP4-format.

Academic Awards

Submitted ePoster-presentations will be evaluated by a committee of independent experts. Eligible presentations will have the chance to win one out of five exciting academic awards. The presentation evaluation will be based on the problem significance and impact, research contribution, material quality, presentation skills, and message conciseness.

1st prize : Amazon eGift Card ($1,000)

2nd prize : Amazon eGift Card ($750)

3rd prize : Amazon eGift Card ($500)

Two (2) Honorable Mentions: Amazon eGift Card ($250)

All ePoster materials must be submitted to KAUST by 20th February, 2021, 5 PM (17:00) Arabian Standard Time.  

The Winners of the ePoster competition will be announced during the closing session of the Conference on February 24th, 2021.
