Matthias Woestmann is a German investor with a focus on renewable energies. He studied German Literature, History and Political Sciences at Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg/Germany (obtaining a Master of Arts) and started a career as a journalist with the German public service ARD. In 1993 he was appointed the head of the South Asia studio of the network in New Delhi and worked as a foreign TV-correspondent. After his return to Germany in 1997 he focused on business reporting and founded his investment company Quadrat Capital in Berlin. The company invested in the German solar industry and is an advisor to CO2 POWER, a spinoff of ETH Zurich and an innovator geothermal power generation.
