Director of Geothermal Energy, Iceland
Mr. Richter is a senior geothermal expert and a bore hole geologist. He is also director of geothermal energy for Iceland GeoSurvey. He has been with Iceland GeoSurvey and its predecessor, National Energy Authority, Research Division, since 1998. He is a geothermal expert and consultant with broad practical experience in geothermal surface- and sub-surface exploration, well logging and mud logging, interpretation of geophysical data, borehole temperature and pressure data, as well as knowledge on technical aspects of drilling, well design and drilling programs.
He also has experience in conceptual geothermal modelling as well as resource assessment. Working experience in marine geology including projects in petroleum exploration and Law of the Sea related studies. Experience in planning and carrying out field surveys and drilling campaign. Good experience in project management, marketing and business development.
He has worked on several geothermal projects in Europe, North and South Americas, Asia and Africa, as well as Iceland. He has also been involved in a number of desktop reconnaissance studies of potential geothermal resources. He holds an MSc from Copenhagen University
